Challenge
The Federal Election Commission (FEC) relied on multiple legacy systems and manual processes to manage IT service delivery, enterprise assets, committee correspondence, and employee access requests. These disconnected platforms limited efficiency, visibility, and scalability while increasing administrative overhead. To modernize operations, FEC selected ServiceNow as a single cloud-based system of record to consolidate systems, automate workflows, and improve operational performance across the agency.
Approach
iTech AG implemented a comprehensive ServiceNow solution that consolidated FEC’s fragmented legacy environment into a unified platform. The implementation migrated incident management and service desk operations from BMC RemedyForce, deployed through Salesforce, and replaced ScanStar, a Salesforce-integrated barcode asset tracking solution.
The new platform leveraged ServiceNow’s automated workflows, reporting and analytics, Discovery capabilities, and REST API integrations to streamline asset management, incident management, committee correspondence, and employee access requests while providing a scalable foundation for future growth.
Key capabilities included:
- Correspondence tracking for more than 82,000 political committees
- Multiple REST API integrations with external agency applications and databases
- Comprehensive reporting and dashboards across business units
- Automated workflows for committee correspondence, employee access requests, and approvals
- Active Directory integration to automate user and group administration for more than 493 employees and contractors
